EHV1 and CDI & CPEDI Ypäjä

Cases of EHV1 have been reported in Estonia, and the Equestrian Federations of Finland and Estonia, along with their veterinarians, are closely monitoring the situation.

At present, there are no direct impacts on the upcoming international dressage and para-dressage competition in Ypäjä. The cases in Estonia have been limited to stables housing mainly leisure horses and a few competing show jumpers. The infections occurred in connection with a show jumping event, and the affected stables were immediately placed under quarantine. No new cases have emerged.

The movements of dressage horses travelling to Finland are being traced, and currently, there is no indication of infection risk. In addition, international competitions are always subject to health monitoring requirements prior to the event (via the FEI App), as well as arrival checks and ongoing health surveillance. For biosecurity, horses from Estonia will be stabled in a separate aisle regardless.

We are continuously monitoring the situation and will provide updates should anything change.
