Final Results Confirmed at Nordic-Baltic Championships Following Show Jumping Cancellation; Dressage Competitions Completed as Scheduled
Final results have been confirmed at the 2025 Nordic-Baltic Equestrian Championships, where dressage competitions concluded as scheduled, and show jumping results were determined based on earlier rounds following Sunday’s weather-related cancellation. Denmark’s Cecilie Dybro Jensen claimed gold in the Grand Prix Freestyle, while Finland’s Pipsa Koski topped the Senior Individual Show Jumping Championship.
Senior Freestyle Gold to Denmark’s Cecile Dybro Jensen
In the Grand Prix Freestyle, Denmark celebrated a full podium sweep. Cecilie Dybro Jensen took home the gold with Zagori, followed by Camilla Lunderskov on Donnerhall’s Son II in second place, and Julie Dyrgaard aboard Ryvangs Damon Dione in third.
“Feels amazing! I didn’t expect this at all, it was a really nice surprise,” said Jensen after her winning ride. “Today was a bit difficult because of the wind. He got a little tense, and I could already sense it during warm-up, so I knew I had to be very careful not to ask too much. The piaffe was especially challenging, but I’m happy he still gave it his best. The pirouettes were actually better today than on the previous days, which makes me really happy, since they’ve been a bit tricky at home.”
In the U25 Freestyle, Sweden’s Linnéa Holmgren secured the gold with Qc Sir Dennis. Denmark’s Sofie Amalie Kjærgaard Wettendorff took silver riding Hacker, and the bronze went to Sweden’s Maxime Kjellvertz aboard Heuberger Tsf.
In the Young Rider Freestyle, Denmark’s Anna Have Larsen-Ledet took the gold with Finnigan-Vitz. Sweden’s Tove Slåtteby earned silver riding Ebony EE, and the bronze went to Emilie Balling Nissen of Denmark with Soegaards Secret.
Show Jumping Senior Gold to Pipsa Koski
All show jumping classes scheduled for Sunday, June 29, at the Nordic-Baltic Equestrian Championships were cancelled due to heavy rainfall and the resulting deterioration of the competition grounds. The decision was made by the Ground Jury, the event’s Technical Delegate, and the veterinary delegation, following a thorough early morning inspection. All team chefs d’équipe were consulted, and the final call was made by the President of the Ground Jury, Anna-Karin Tiden. The welfare and safety of the horses remained the highest priority throughout the process.
As per the FEI’s decision, final results were determined based on the standings after the two previous competition rounds. In the Senior Individual Championship, Finland’s Pipsa Koski claimed the gold riding Iprimero. Denmark’s Kamilla Ladefoged Rasmussen earned silver with Chico Z, and Sweden’s Camilla Ahlén took bronze on Black’s Caliente.
“The overall feeling is really positive, even though it was disappointing not to ride the final round,” said Koski. “My horse felt amazing throughout the competition, and we were in a strong position after the first rounds. This is my first NBECH medal – and it’s gold – so it means a lot. Next up are the Pohjola Grand Prix in Myrkky and the Finnish Championships in August. We’re heading to both aiming to win. Iprimero loves the derby field – we won the national championship last year and also took the win in the final Pohjola GP leg. So we’re on a good streak!”
In the Young Riders Individual Championship, Norway’s Ingrid Sandhei Bjoerklund secured the gold with Palousy van het Exelhof. Finland’s Aada-Minea Hanhela took silver aboard Lotus Vd Bisschop, while the bronze went to Sweden’s Bianca Maggi riding Cador Z.
In the Junior Individual Championship, Denmark’s Emily Filippa Windtberg won gold with Finest Selection H.T.W. Finland’s Isabel Olsson earned silver on Haya, and Denmark’s Anna Ley completed the podium with bronze aboard Kong’s Fidibus.
